Join us during Food Waste Prevention week as we explore "The Path to Sustainability." What are some practical solutions that won't negatively impact your operations or bottom line? To answer these questions and more, the Brass Tacks Initiative has put together a panel of experts from Innovative Waste Recycling who will provide valuable insights, practical strategies, and success stories to inspire and guide you in adopting sustainable practices.
Discover how small changes in operations can significantly reduce food waste and contribute to a healthier, more sustainable food system. Don't miss this opportunity to gain the knowledge and tools you need to make a positive impact on both your business and the environment. Plate-to-garden event
Saturday, May 10 | 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. CDT
Location: New Prague Farmers Market, 801 Main Street E, New Prague, MN
We are proud to host our 2nd annual Plate-To-Garden Event on Saturday, May 10, during compost awareness week! We will be promoting a circular food system and raising funds for future programs by selling compost generously donated by the SMSC-ORF - the same facility that processes the food waste collected at the New Prague drop-off site. Compost will be sold for $5 per bag (bring your own bag or bucket to save $1)
In addition, we are thrilled to offer a free make-and-take activity for children aged 12 and under, just in time for Mother's Day! Kids can plant a seed in a mini terracotta pot to give as a gift to their mom or a loved one.
Plus, residents of Scott and LeSueur County will be able to register for the New Prague Household Organics Drop-off site. Those who register will receive their free welcome packet and begin using the site immediately. Those wishing to register must present an ID with proof of residence.
We are looking forward to seeing you there!
